Yoga Teacher Training 200 Hours course is 25 days long as a pathway to becoming a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with the US Yoga Alliance upon course completion. The course offers opportunities for aspiring spiritual yoga practitioners who want to learn this ancient technique in a conducive environment from knowledgeable teachers.   • Teaching Practice: Gain experience in creating a safe and effective curriculum and sequence. Lead asana workshops, pranayama sessions, and guided meditations, while understanding the learning process of your students.
  • Guided Teaching Practice: Focus on perfecting asana alignment, learning tips for adjustments, and improving postures.
  • Teaching Skills: Setting up classes, observation, assisting, and correction.

Additional Teaching

Value of Certification

After finishing the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Nepal Yoga Academy, you’ll receive a Yoga Alliance Registered certification, enabling you to teach yoga anywhere in the world. Assessment Preparation

  • Participate in numerous workshops on teaching methodology, working in pairs and small groups to enhance teaching qualities and reduce nervousness.
  • Engage in verbal questions and answers on topics such as Sanskrit terminology, keywords, asanas, pranayamas, sequencing, benefits, and precautions throughout the classes.
  • Practice spontaneous student teaching of any mantra, pranayama, or asana without preparation.
  • Teach in small groups to prepare for leading an entire class, with feedback from both students and teachers.
Assessment Evaluation

Assessment Evaluation

  • Each student is evaluated based on a set of course criteria. Assessments are primarily practical evaluations.
  • Students are assessed on their involvement in class (minimum of 90% attendance), lesson preparation, practicum, asana sequence and alignments, verbal and physical adjustments, counter poses, relaxation, modification and communication, chanting, workshop techniques, philosophy, comprehension, and other relevant skills.
  • Teachers and fellow students provide constructive feedback to trainees to enhance their skills. If a student appears unprepared for any evaluation, they may be asked to repeat it.

Achievement Ceremony

  • Physical Graduation

    Complete the 108 Sun Salutations (suggested only for those without any physical injury or illness).

  • Academic Graduation

    Receive the certification of course completion. Our YTT 200 Hours course is recognized by the US Yoga Alliance. After completing this course with us, you will be internationally recognized as a Certified Yoga Teacher and qualified to be registered with any Yoga Alliance anywhere in the world.

  • Spiritual Graduation

    Participate in a special fire ceremony with traditional costumes, symbolizing the taking of a spiritual oath to live a yogic life and teach authentic yoga.

After these three graduations, you will build confidence and make a commitment to continue these fruitful techniques in your life and pass them onto others as a teacher.

Arrival and Departure

  • Check-in starts the day of the course induction.
  • The course begins on the 15th of every month.
  • If you wish to arrive before the check-in day, confirm with the management. Extra nights are usually chargeable.

The YTT 200-hour Course cost begins at $1400. A $200 advance fee is needed at the time of booking, which is non-refundable in the case of a later cancellation.

Every month on the 15th, the course begins. The YTT 200-hour course takes 25 days to complete.

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Open mind, learning attitude, and motivation to become a well-intentioned yoga teacher.
  • Respect and acceptance for different cultures, religions, and personal habits.
  • Suitable for beginner/intermediate practitioners with high self-discipline.
  • Physically fit and mentally stable to handle rigorous training.
  • Minimum age: 16 years.

How to Get There

  • Located between Kathmandu and Nagarkot.
  • 22 km from Tribhuvan International Airport, 10 km from Bhaktapur, 25 km from Thamel, and 1 km from Telkot.
  • Hire a cab from the airport or request us to arrange one for a fee.
