Who is Eligible for the Youth Empowerment Program?
The youth program is for the young generation; an age group between around 15 and 35 years old, this may change based on context or the focus of the program.

Is the program adaptable to more targeted populations?
There is, however, flexibility for local adaptation — this means that the program can be localized to meet the needs of a particular organization, school or community ensuring experiences are both relevant and impactful.

What is the Youth Empowerment Program?
The Youth Empowerment Program is designed to support and empower young people in building physically, mentally, emotionally and socially balanced lives, through the practice of yoga and holistic lifestyle workshops.

Are yoga sessions possible in the office and do we need any equipment?
Actually, you can have an office yoga layout with minimal space and equipment. We suggest you wear comfortable clothes, have a yoga mat (if possible) and a bottle of water.

What do employees gain from Corporate Yoga?
Corporate yoga is nothing but offering in-office yoga sessions for employees to reduce stress, increase focus and improve physical & mental health. It will improve productivity, decision-making and team spirit.

Is it office-friendly, and what gear do you need for personal sessions?
Yoga can be practiced in the office with a limited amount of space and equipment required. Wear comfortable clothing, bring a yoga mat (if you have one), and water.

Corporate yoga conducts on-site office yoga classes to help staff lowering stress, increase focus and improve health both physically & mentally. It improves productivity, decision-making as well as team spirit.

Do you need to have done yoga at all before doing corporate yoga?
This is not the case for corporate yoga, and it caters to everyone regardless of their fitness level or experience. Sessions are designed for all levels of practitioner.

What type of yoga will you teach?
We focus on traditional or sanatan yoga based on the philosophy of patanjali yoga sutra (8 limbs of Ashtanga yoga), hatha pradipika, Gheranda Samhita. Apart from that we take sessions for other forms like vinyasa flow, ashtanga flow etc.

What style of yoga will I be learning?
The course includes Hatha and Raja styles of yoga. Occasionally, we will include Vinyasa and Ashtanga styles of yoga. In our curriculum of yoga teachers training,we provide hand book of Asana, Pranayama, Mudra, Bandha, written by Swami Satyananda Saraswati of the Bihar School of Yoga. This book will be your main reference during training.

How far is the retreat center and how can I get there?
The retreat center is 20 km away from Thamel and the airport. We have a pick arrangement from the airport if guests need it and the cost for a taxi is around 20 USD(INR2000). If you get a taxi on your own , you can direct him to the Yoga Academy by Panachamahalaxmi Temple near Telkot on the Nagarkot Road, a few kilometers past Bhaktapur. Will you be able to provide any meals that follow my special dietary requirements?
We have wonderful farm fresh food, vegan food also if you need and if you have any food intolerance and any specific diet you can inform before so that we can best possible for you.

Do you recommend vaccinations before visiting Nepal?
This decision is entirely up to you! We find that there is a wide range in vaccination preference. Some people will not receive vaccinations, others will rely on their current up to date vaccinations, while some people may receive a smaller or larger quantity. Currently, we have not had any guests diagnosed with a major illness during their stay. Please keep in mind we can only provide fitness, clean water, food, and a healthy environment and do not take responsibility beyond these conditions. Yoga is traditionally related to naturopathy which does not promote vaccination, however, we support any decision made in the matter.

Do I need travel insurance and insurance for practicing yoga course?
We would recommend all teacher training students to have travel insurance covering their trip to Nepal. Apart from checking for quotes online, you may also wish to check with your travel agents Whatever option you take please make sure to obtain travel insurance before you leave your home country and please provide us with a print out of your details upon arrival. And while the course there is no such insurance required as yoga practice not such a danger practice, if any student wants to get it done he/she is free to do so.

Are any additional taxes or fees we must pay?
There are no extra or hidden charges for retreat and Training course apart from stated in website or communicated to you, it includes both food and accommodation but you need to pay charges / entrance fees while visiting world heritage sites.

Should I tip the staff?
We would appreciate your act and welcome to gather some gift / money for our hardworking team, if you feel happy with our service, we recommend tipping a minimum of USD 10.

What happens if there is a medical emergency or I get sick?
In case you get sick, we have first aid for common illness and we can also take you to closest pharmacy. If there is any medical emergency we can visit nearest hospital and doctor.

Will I have access to hot water showers?
Yes, we have solar power and showers will be hot majority of the day.

What time do we typically wake up and rest?
Generally we start our day at 6:30 am with neti cleansing every morning followed by tea and breathing (pranayam) session at 7:00 . So, it’s depending on you when to wake up.

What form of payments do you accept?
We accept cash, bank transfer, wired money, Western Union, Visa or Mastercard credit cards (there is a 4% charge for any transactions).

Are there any ATM’s nearby?
The nearest ATM’s are in Sanksu, half an hour walking, and Bhaktapur, two hours walking and half an hour driving. During your off days if you visit Kathmandu you will have access to many ATM’s.

What should I bring? Yoga mats & clothes etc?
We recommend the following:
- Warm clothing for evenings and mornings (winter)
- Warm socks and hat (winter)
- A warm sweater or blanket/shall for meditation
- Sleeping bag (if preferred during winter)
- Walking shoes and outdoor wear
- Waterproof shoes and rain jacket (rainy season)
- Mosquito and bug repellents (summer and rainy season)
- Slip-on sandals for around the retreat, rooms, and bathrooms
- A headlamp and batteries or flashlight for walking outdoors in the evening
- Conservative dress for temple visits
- Ideally cotton conservative dress for yoga (avoid low cut tops, shorts, and transparent clothing)
- A refillable water bottle/thermos (drinking water and tea available on site)
- Personal medical kit
- Personal toiletries and other necessities
- Personal Journal

What is the registration process?

Should I bring my own yoga mat?
We have plenty of mats, blankets, cushions and other supports, but we recommend you have your own mat for the duration of the training for hygiene reasons. If you want to reduce the weight of your luggage you can also purchase varieties of yoga mats from our retreat centre.

Will you find a roommate for me if I come by myself?
If you are here for teachers training course we will accommodate two students in one room, but if you are here for retreat we cannot accommodate as generally guest want separate room.

Are the retreats suitable for beginners?
Absolutely, it’s a perfect place to experience yoga regardless of age, physical ability or prior yoga experience. Though we have specially designed sessions for beginners as well as yoga is about comparison.

How much experience do I need to join the YTT course?
There is no such experience required for YTT course, but if you have basic knowledge about yoga its good, we encourage students from all background you can learn more and grow more here.

How many students are on the course?
We have batch of 14 students at most in teacher training course, our courses are in high demand we never take more than these numbers to ensure the highest quality training for our students.

What type of students attends the trainings?
Generally we have students of age group from 18 to 65 and come from all over the world.

Do I need to be flexible to do yoga?
This course in not just about the flexibility, but regular practise here you can increase and improve our flexibility.

If I have an injury, can I still enroll the course?
There is no such issue if you can travel, its depends on the severity of the injury, we can deal with the lots of modification of the posture taking care of the affected part and there is lot many things you can learn apart from asana (yoga posture) like yoga philosophy, yoga anatomy and various breathing techniques (pranayam).

What is the altitude or height of the retreat and surroundings does we need any medication for altitude sickness?
The altitude of Kathmandu from sea level is around 1400 meter, Bhaktapur is around 1350 meter, Telkot place of resort varies between 2000 meter while Nagarkot the sunrise point is at 2175 meters from the sea level, so these are the mostly visited places during the course, if you feel any altitude sickness then you can carry some medicine along with you but it is very normal height for any new person as well.

What type of weather generally experienced?
Weather throughout the year is pleasant generally you can feel cold breeze in morning and evening. From October mid to February mid its cold so, you can carry some warm clothes along with you, from the month of march to May its quiet sunny at noon and you can experience rain from June to mid of August.

Is there any group discount in the course fees?
There is no such provision for group discount for the yoga teachers training, but we can provide good discount if you come for retreat.

Is there is any scholarship for the teachers training course?
There is not any scholarship in teachers training course. But if any students want to do volunteering than there may be some discount but that is solely at the discretion of the academy.

Will I get the opportunity to teach during the course?
At fourth week during the course generally we have self practice time where you can learn more about the teaching and take session prepare yourself for evaluation.

Is it necessary to be flexible to do a YTT course?
This course is not just about flexibility, but regular practice here can increase and improve our flexibility.

Will I have free time?
Generally in a Month you will have every Sunday holiday, during the weekdays there is free time after breakfast, lunch and dinner sometime we plan some outdoor activities. And in the fourth week there is enough time to self practice and prepare for the exam.

What does spiritual consultation cover?
It includes Lifestyle, skills of managing stressful and hectic life, managing expectations, balancing expectations and overall learning the self guidance to lead life in easier and balanced way.

What if I don’t want to attend some of the programs/classes? Will that be okay as per the rule of the retreat?
Yes, you can do that on request.

We are 3 of us in the family including my kid. Can we have an extra bed in the room?
Yes, we can arrange that for you.

Is there purified water at the center?
Yes, you will have access to purified water at all times.

Can I use a computer/ or another mobile device during my stay?
Yes ! We have adequate wifi and power supplies. You can connect your device and they can be useful tools for study. However, we will not appreciate phones or gadgets in class.

I have certain food allergies. Can my meals be adjusted accordingly?
Yes. Please inform us about your allergies, and we will ensure your meals are prepared accordingly.

Can I have visitors?
Yes, visitors are welcomed but visitors’ fees are charged for the visit.

How long do we need to book in advance?
You can book any time if there is availability.

What if I need to stay for an additional night?
You can extend your stay, however, the additional night fees will be charged.
